It all begins with an idea.

After meeting by chance in the fall of 2023, we became fast friends. Then, we started talking investments…and sharing Bloomberg charts and Spotify links—

which led to various business initiatives together, including this podcast. Above all, we share a respect for deep thought and deductive reasoning and imagine you do too.

We hope we can share a bit of what gets us excited, when we speak with experts about their fields, including their research, findings, and conclusions.

Let’s have fun together, exploring the “why” behind the “what”—the “IT” in our title. No surface level understanding or narratives here. Just data and logic.

  • BENJAMIN brey

    Ben is the CIO and Managing Member of Deductive Capital, an investment firm he founded in 2011. In addition, Ben is a Contributor and Partner in financial media company Wall Street Beats.

    Previously, Ben managed capital for various hedge funds and family offices specializing in macro and special situations trading rates, equities, options, futures, and fixed income.

    He began his career at Fidelity Management and Research as an Equity Research Analyst.

    He earned an MBA from the University of Wisconsin School of Business, where he graduated from the Applied Security Analysis Program. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Honors College with a BBA in Finance and Economics at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, where he was a member of the men's basketball team playing for two hall of fame coaches. Ben is a CFA Charterholder.

  • NADINE terman

    Nadine is a Founder, CEO and CIO of Solstein Capital, LLC. At Solstein, she oversees both investment and operations functions and leads the firm as a Managing Member.

    With over thirty years of experience, she manages tactical, global portfolios for institutional, family office and high net worth clients at Solstein. Previously, Nadine was a Partner with Blum Capital Partners and served on its Investment Committee, a private equity Associate with Behrman Capital, and an Analyst with both Merrill Lynch and Goldman Sachs. Ms. Terman is a regular contributor across global television, radio and media platforms.

    Ms. Terman has a B.A. with Honors and with Distinction from Stanford University and was recognized with the Firestone Medal for Excellence in Research and as Phi Beta Kappa. In addition, she earned an M.B.A. from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, where she was an Arjay Miller Scholar.
